Burning Out

After this brutal semester, I am ecstatic to say that it is finally over. I don’t know what it was about these past few months of uni but my musings have deducted that it could be because of one of or a combination of two reasons:

  1. Naturally, the topics are getting harder as they become more specialised.
  2. The topic coordinators hatched a scheme to make everything hell for us students as a way of compensating for our poor attendances.

The more I think about it, I’d say it’s definitely the latter option. Before you say “hey Viv, perhaps it’s because of your poor attendance that you found this semester so difficult”, I don’t wanna hear about yo roundabout ways of telling me how to live my life.

Yeah, David gets me.

But before it gets too weird that I’m sharing winter-y outfit posts when it is clearly summer now, here are a couple of photos from when I was just trying to emulate a cowboy hehehe. And also not to mention when I was stressin’. Look out for the impending doom in my eyes.

Anyway, now I’m off to chill and relax in this 42 degree weather mmmm. Thanks for reading!

Until next time, Viv ❤

A Typical Day

If you ever saw me on a typical day, it would probably be somewhere at my uni. This semester, I’m so lucky to have been granted 9am starts and long-ass hours. It’s been really great ^_^ haha. Especially when it’s cold in the morning, cold in the afternoon and cold when it’s dark. But anyway, it’s cool (heheh). I like waking up early the days I do get enough sleep.

So, with that being said, I think I’ve curated quite the collection of my go-to comfort clothes without realising. These include:

  • My trusty caps ♥
  • A rain-proof jacket
  • A blanket-esque cardigan cause dayum it can get chilly in lectures
  • A button-down
  • Sneakers

I probably wear these things way too often but what’s the harm in showing them a little love :p Even if they do get a little smelly (hohoho), I just gotta own it 😀

“Yeah, that’s right I smell! I smell gooooood.”

“SMELL ME! That’s the smell of an unwashed uni student in their natural habitat.”

“WHO’S THAT POKEMON? Oh, it’s just a Viv in the wild.”

Sorry, I get carried away ^^

Anyway, having something like this really streamlines those mornings when you just ceebs. And yas I know we all have those days, but we just gotta keep going *\^_^/*

What kind of comfort clothes do you reach for when you’re just not feeling it?

Thanks for reading!

Until next time, Viv x

the wild Vivi fled!

Fairy dust

Fine pieces of hair fell, turning translucent where it touched the light. It rained lightly and softly, pausing in the small puffs of air created by the flurry of movement created by her scissors . “Is this okay?” she asked. After a moment’s hesitation, I nodded. I could never really figure out what I wanted. She dusted what could have been mistaken for some weird looking fairy dust off of my shoulders and ushered me to get out of the chair. “Yaaaas” i said silently. I liked it. “Thank you” I smiled. Now that got rid of those pesky split ends and i can finally pretend my hair is healthy. Yay *\ ^_^ /*

The night before i had dyed it purple but little did I know, it would only last a few washes 😦 Perhaps it was the excess of purple toner and lack of actual purple dye or use of hot water but either way… it was a sad few showers for me. But all g, this was actually one of the successful attempts of Experiment Locks // Code Lavender.

Hope you enjoy 🙂

A midi-affair

After settling into days of lazing around and being entirely too comfortable with myself, I got the opportunity to get out of my self induced lazy coma via. a fashion show~ Myer held a small fashion event within their store where designers like Alex Perry and Yeojin Bae attended to showcase their own collections for Spring/ Summer 2015. I know its a bit late for this since its already winter here but.. better late then never right? 😀

But yeah anyways, for the event, I wanted to look like I was meant to be there, so I wore a midi skirt to up the sophistication yo. Nothing can quite compare to a midi skirt when it comes to looking mature and grown-up. Don’t you agree? ;D

Thanks for reading! See you again hopefully x 😀

Spring is coming

Hey, sorry I haven’t blogged in awhile. Uni has kept me so busy its unbohlievable.

The days where it is acceptable to wear only a singlet and cardigan without freezing are almost here! Time to rejoice! Woo

As much as I love winter, I don’t think I’m going to miss the days of wondering whether it is just a dark day or a very light night. Well not until summer arrives that is. Then I’ll be begging for any kind of relief from the burning sun. ><

Ah Adelaidean weather, you get me so well. ❤

These winter chills have got me good. It’s great. My eyes/ nose / lips  have been suffering from the constant bombardment of cold weather :/ (yes that Taeyang reference was intentional)

Before you say it, I know, I know. Winter here is nothing compared to some other places.

You think this is winter?

But it is still cold.

Anyways, here’s an outfit perfect for transitioning weather. This was actually taken as winter was starting. I’m a bit late with this but oh wells. Forgive me. Blame #unilyf

There’s no better way to celebrate the new year than by commemorating it almost half a year later. In an effort to celebrate the new year more fabulously, I inspected my assortment of red clothes, because what brings more luck than red amirite? ;D yeaaah Asian pride

Ahem. ANYWAY I found I had a smaller collection of red items than I previously thought. Cue dramatic tears. No, not really. But my options were limited, so this dress from Asos had to suffice. It was only 10 dollars too if I remember correctly.

This has got to be the most glamorous-in-a-marilyn-monroe-sort-of-way I have ever looked and by that i mean glam-60’s; although I could never look like her even if I had a whole make over team at my disposal. Red and gold just give off such a fabulous vibe.

Like the cute owl touch? It was quite a hoot (har har). My friend had to loan me her necklace because mine fell apart as I was putting it on… Incidentally the aqua on the owl matched my nails! So all was good. The outfit (I assume) did get quite a few questioning and perhaps even confused looks though. But perhaps that was because I wasn’t exactly dressed for a laid-back NYE house  party.
